Mat Pilates uses the body's weight to accomplish controlled motions on a padded mat. Joseph Pilates' method addresses the core muscles—abdominals, hips, glutes, back, and thighs—and stabilizing muscles. Breathing, concentration, control, precision, centering, and flow promote posture, balance, flexibility, and body awareness. Mat Pilates can be adapted for injuries and all fitness levels.
The program incorporates cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility workouts designed for growing bodies. Teen Fit sessions may also provide a supportive group of peers who can motivate each other to reach fitness objectives. Teen Fit helps teens build healthy habits, exercise, and self-esteem.
